Hugo Nunez, AGNP-C
Hugo Nunez received his Masters in the Science of Nursing from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 2017.
Hugo began his training as an orthopedic specialist in 1989 for the US Army Reserves, where he treated a host of traumatic injuries during Operation Desert Shield and worked as an orthopedic scrub tech for 17 years assisting in surgery. After completing his bachelor’s degree in Nursing in 2006, Hugo practiced as an operating room nurse and pain management/regenerative medicine nurse for 12 years. In 2017 he received his MSN from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He then practiced as a Nurse Practitioner in a general surgery practice. Hugo always enjoyed integrative/regenerative medicine and started up again in 2020, implementing regenerative medicine to help with joint pain and soft tissue injuries. Hugo truly enjoys seeing the positive outcomes patients reach with integrative/regenerative medicine and reducing the need for surgeries. Hugo now offers treatments including stem cell injections, wound care, neuropathy treatments, diabetic treatments and treatments for chronic pain.
KEVIN XIE, DPT
Doctor of Physical Therapy
Kevin Xie received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Vermont in 2017 after completing his bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Movement Science from The University of Vermont in 2014. Kevin has practiced in outpatient rehabilitation across the country, treating a wide variety of orthopedic injuries. He specializes in fall prevention and balance training for patients with neuropathy and deconditioning from chronic pain by utilizing a holistic approach to functional recovery. He promotes a positive environment that focuses on physical health, proprioceptive awareness, and movement mechanics to guide patients through their recovery process. When he’s not at work, you can catch Kevin golfing, playing basketball or hanging out at the beach.

Valerie Cousins grew up in South Florida. She worked as a RN for 8 years prior to returning back to school to complete the FNP program. She attended Nova South Eastern University where she obtained her BSN in 2006. She then went to Florida Atlantic University and graduated in 2009 with her master’s degree and completed the FNP program. She is Board Certified as a FNP and has been practicing now as a FNP for 12 years with a background primarily in family medicine. She became a FNP because she enjoys taking care of patients and helping them reach their optimal health goals. She decided to join RIHC because she appreciates helping people improve their quality of life by being able to move better, improving pain levels and maximizing their overall functionality. She enjoys being a part of their healing process.
